Since 2000, Yan has worked in several fashion media based in Beijing and Paris. From 2004, Yan joined the editorial team to launch ELLE Decoration China Magazine, focusing on design and architecture field. In 2005, Yan became the main judge of ELLE Decoration International Design Awards (EDIDA) China selection which is committed to bring the Chinese designers into the international arena.
